LTC (ret) Andrew Griffin, Ed.D.
Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Griffin, USA (Ret), Ed.D., is the founder and president of Veteran Educational Transitions Solutions (VET-Solutions), LLC
LTC (Ret) Griffin received his United States Army officer’s commission in 1978. He retired in 2000 following 22 years of active military service in both Military Intelligence and Special Forces operations. He served 11 years overseas to include a combat tour in Somalia commanding a joint intelligence unit while also providing advice and training assistance to United Nations units, and a personal advisor to the United StatesAmbassador to Somalia. His many awards and decorations include the U.S. Army Legion of Merit, Presidential Unit Citation (Somalia), Defense Meritorious Service Medal (3 awards), Meritorious Service Medal (4 awards), and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.
In 1993, LTC (Ret) Griffin received his master’s degree from Troy University and in 2007 the Doctor of Education from Northern Arizona University (NAU). In 2010, Dr. Griffin established the NAU Office of Military and Veterans Affairs. As the director he gained national recognition as an innovative thinker, leader, and lecturer regarding military and veteran students in higher education. Dr. Griffin also served as the Director of Scholarships and Financial Aid while NAU was conducting a national search for that position.
Dr. Griffin is a member of the Military Officers Association of America, the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), and the Counsel of College and Military Educators (CCME). In addition, he recently served as a State Commissioner on the Arizona Veterans’ Service Advisory Commission which provides representation and advocacy for the approximately 600,000 veterans living in Arizona to the Arizona Department of Veteran Services and the Governor’s Office.
